Mother, 2018
A series revolving around the iconography of ‘Mother’. Through the imagery of Mother, the vessels and figuritive sculptures dramatise, quietly mock and transcend usual religious readings of Mother Mary. This series aims to bring closeness to an image that has always been far away, revealing its multifaceted nature and its presence in our daily lives.

Poem in full:
Our Mother,
Who art in heaven,
you are full of grace.
Woman.
I have not been thy daughter.
I have not respected thy womb.
Now at the hour of my death, ten rosaries deep, I repeat:
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done,
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done.
I will forgive woman and yield.
Devotional qualities like the sea in a storm,
a candle in a lighthouse window,
your face over mine in the dark.
Forgive me my trespasses,
Let me in.
Give me my daily bread,
Embody all grace and lightness.
